How It Works
What Are Injectables?
Injectables are classed as chemical substances that are inserted into a person’s skin designed to either support the muscles in a specific area which will reduce wrinkles and lines, or fatten up the skin giving a plumper look. The two main types of injectables used are Botox and dermal fillers.
Who are good Candidates for Injectable Procedures?
Before you decide to have any medical procedure done it is best to be educated on the specifics. Here are a few facts to get you started: In the United States, the FDA has approved the use of Botox as a cosmetic procedure for anyone between the ages of 18-65. There may be some instances where it is not suitable. For example, if you are allergic to any of the ingredients used in injectable procedures or if you are pregnant. If you have any concerns, our trained professionals will be able to give you guidance on what is best.
Can anyone have a Dermal Filler Procedure?
As with Botox, the FDA has approved the use of soft tissue filler for the correction of wrinkles. The cosmetic services provided by 8 West Vancouver Lip Injections is an example of where the FDA also approved the use of lip and cheek augmentation in patients ages 21 and older. Again, if you are allergic to any of the ingredients used as part of the dermal filler procedure or are pregnant, then it may not be suitable. Please talk to our trained professionals if you have any concerns.

What Injectables Are Offered?
Botox – The Facts
Botox injections work by reducing the appearance of frown lines, crow’s feet or any other facial or neck wrinkles. Botox is the most popular cosmetic surgery available with more than 6 million treatments performed every year. It is a neurotoxin that is made from Clostridium botulinum, which is a natural bacterium and is non-toxic. Botox works by temporarily paralyzing the underlying muscles which reduces wrinkles and fine lines. The effects of Botox normally last for around 3-6 months depending on the person. Botox is also used to treat other medical conditions such as muscular disorders or migraines.
Dermal Fillers – The Facts
Dermal fillers have become increasing popular over the last 10 years. They work by filling lines and wrinkles as well as plumping up the skin to give it more volume. The effects of dermal fillers usually last about 6-9 months, although some people have seen the effects last up to a year after receiving the treatment. Dermal fillers are mostly used in facial wrinkles and folds, but can also be used on the hands or lips. The dermal filler procedure was the second most common non-surgical procedure of 2015 in the United States. Dermal fillers are increasingly used by men, with the number of male patients increasing by 6% in 2015. In most cases you will see immediate results and treatment is done in just one session.
What are Dr. Nguyen’s Patients Saying?
Our Philosophy
We feel that the approach to facial plastic surgery by both patient and doctor should be a conservative one, and the result should appear natural and balanced.
There are several core philosophical principles that drive our practice. We feel that the approach to facial plastic surgery by both patient and doctor should be a conservative one. We feel that results should appear natural and balanced so that a patient looks like the best version of his or herself, not a bizarre approximation of someone else. We believe that the best outcomes are achieved when a patient and surgeon share a common objective and when there is consensus regarding aesthetic taste. We encourage a holistic approach to anti-aging because true youthfulness requires a combination of attitude, physical well being, as well as appearance.
While facial plastic surgery is often pursued to restore a youthful appearance, its results are most effective when a patient is vigilant about preserving mind, body, and spirit alike. Last, and perhaps most importantly, we believe that each of our patient’s needs is unique and that their course of treatment should reflect that of uniqueness. We strive to give the utmost in personalized care and service. From your first phone call to our office through your final follow-up visit, you will be given the time and attention needed to help you realize your individual aesthetic goals.
