Overview of Neck Lift Recovery in the Los Angeles Area
It’s vital to know what to expect during neck lift recovery in order to help ensure a smooth recovery. More information about neck lift recovery in Orange County is available when patients get in touch with Dr. Davis B. Nguyen.
Neck Lift Recovery Overview
In essence, a neck lift involves tightening muscles and skin, removing excess skin and fat, and contouring the neck to make everything looks youthful. These changes take time to recover from. Patients can expect to feel mild discomfort during the first few days of neck lift recovery. There will be some bruising and swelling, as well. Fortunately, these issues should disappear over the next two weeks and will be completely gone in a month.
Length of the Neck Lift Recovery Period
It can take between four to six weeks to completely recover from a neck lift, depending on the extent of the procedure. The first week should see the worst of the swelling and bruising start going down. By the end of the second week, patients will only get the occasional feeling of discomfort and some tingling around the affected area. Once the fourth or sixth week has passed, patients can return to work with no worries.

How to Prepare for Neck Lift Recovery
The first week of neck lift recovery will involve a lack of energy on the part of the patient. As such, it’s important to ensure that they will get as much rest as possible during this time. Taking time off from work will help prevent distractions and disturbances.
Patients will need to avoid smoking during the recovery process, since smoking can prolong recovery and lead to complications.
Care and Medication Instructions
The closer patients follow their recovery instructions, the smoother the recovery will be. It’s especially important to follow all medication dosage schedules. Typically, patients are prescribed painkillers and antibiotics to ensure a smooth healing process.
Meals to Heal Faster
The body will require a lot of nutrients while recovering during neck lift recovery. Meat, eggs, yogurt, nuts, and vegetables would be a good start. Preparing a meal plan ahead of time will take the stress of food preparation out of the equation, as well.

What are Dr. Nguyen’s Patients Saying?

Our Philosophy
We feel that the approach to facial plastic surgery by both patient and doctor should be a conservative one, and the result should appear natural and balanced.
There are several core philosophical principles that drive our practice. We feel that the approach to facial plastic surgery by both patient and doctor should be a conservative one. We feel that results should appear natural and balanced so that a patient looks like the best version of his or herself, not a bizarre approximation of someone else. We believe that the best outcomes are achieved when a patient and surgeon share a common objective and when there is consensus regarding aesthetic taste. We encourage a holistic approach to anti-aging because true youthfulness requires a combination of attitude, physical well being, as well as appearance.
While facial plastic surgery is often pursued to restore a youthful appearance, its results are most effective when a patient is vigilant about preserving mind, body, and spirit alike. Last, and perhaps most importantly, we believe that each of our patient’s needs is unique and that their course of treatment should reflect that of uniqueness. We strive to give the utmost in personalized care and service. From your first phone call to our office through your final follow-up visit, you will be given the time and attention needed to help you realize your individual aesthetic goals.
